In April of 2023 I took over the wedding department (or lack there of) at Cactus Joe's Blue Diamond Nursery just outside of Las Vegas. Cactus Joe's popped onto the map as a wedding venue almost 10 years ago, but it didn't gain momentum until 2020 when couples were scrambling to find an outdoor space to host their wedding in the midst of a pandemic. When I stepped into this role there wasn't structure nor an actual "wedding" team with any grain of knowledge about the industry to effectively work with couples or alongside the amazing, talented planners and vendors we have here.
So I took this still little known property and within my first 12 months turned it into one of the most sought after outdoor desert venues in the valley, eventually leading us to being voted 2nd place in 2023 and 2024 as the Best Place to Get Married in Las Vegas. What makes us so special? Well, let me show you:
Seriously, where do I sign up? The tall mountain peak in the center of the above image, taken by Onyx & Arrow Collective, is Red Rock Canyon - one of the most gorgeous landscapes in the country and on a beautiful clear day you can see the variations of reds and oranges that make Red Rock so famous. This also faces west, so yes golden hour here is the bee's knees!
This blank slate of a space allows my couples to create whatever their hearts desire. You can be as simple as you want or have all the things to really dress things up. Either way, you are going to have an incredible experience and wedding photos that will make your friends super jealous.
This particular site is 5 acres of land located across the highway from the nursery, and we call it Desert Love. Perfect for ceremonies with up to 85 guests or intimate dinner parties for up to 40 this location gives you that true "in the middle of no where" feeling without actually being in the middle of no where.
